Guess what!

I am going to Louisiana again this weekend, this time with Alex's parents. No big surprise there, right? Well the real surprise is that I am going to try to take a zillion pictures this time. I have resolved to be a camara-happy stupid-touristy kind of person. Maybe. Hopefully my resolution will last until we get down there ;).

We are going to go to Alex's church spring banquet (with a hawaiian theme!) on Friday night. Alex is even going to get a Hawaiian shirt for it!!! And on Sunday night they're having their AWANA awards night. Other than that I don't know if we have any plans yet. We'll see! :)

Do you all wanna know how messed up the clinic is? We have to have a psychologist run the place now! I'm dead serious too :). One of the psychologist's from the hospital is sort of equal with Betty right now (I think eventually he will take her place, but nobody is saying that officially yet :P). So he stopped by the phone room the other day "just to say hi." He came in, sits down in the empty chair, and says "HI!" And we all said hi back, and Jane asked if he was here to observe us (evidently he had mentioned to her once that he might stop in to observe us for awhile sometime). He only said, "Nope, I just wanted to say hi." and crossed his legs, and leaned back, obviously going nowhere. So Jane was chatting with him for awhile about some concerns she has about the whole system of the clinic and phone room. And he is SOOOO psychologist-ish it was hilarious! Every time she said something he would nod sympathetically and say, "And how does that make you feel?" And he asked us to please be patient with because he wasn't going to be making any major changes for awhile, but if we do happen to feel frustrated with him, he hopes we will express that to him also. GAG ME!!!!! Never ever EVER trust a psychologist. They're weird. That's all I have to say about him :).

Oh dear, my supper is calling me. And I still haven't forgotten my photographical plan yet, so I'm definitely off to a good start! :)

I'm still alive and kicking... dogs :P

The dogs and I have been getting along better the last couple of days! Can you believe it? I am kind of trying to not let Max be such a brat right now though, so he's not always happy :). When I give them each a treat, Max gobbles his down as fast as he can and then growls and barks as viciously as he can at Toby and Toby actually drops his treat out of his mouth! I think that's rediculous. So I don't let Max near Toby when they have their doggy treats! Toby is about 5 times Max's size too. Dumb dogs!!! The cat is the only one that stands up to Max. They're about the same size and when Max tries to chase Harry, he just looks at Max like he's an idiot. Sometimes he tries to get away from Max but he makes it clear that he is NOT being chased. He is merely Annoyed (with a capital A). It's funny to watch!

Ok. Terry says that I didn't post enough about going to LA, so... We had a lovely time. But I already said that in my last post, I believe :). I guess I'll just start at the beginning: We got down there just in time to meet Alex for lunch and then when he went back to work we got all checked in to our hotel. Mom took a nap while the rest of us played games, read books, watched tv, went for walks, and goofed off. Then we went back to Alex's, had supper, watched a movie, and met his friend Carl. On Saturday we hung around Alex's apartment until it was time to go to church. They were having a car building day for the AWANA kids for a pinewood derby the next weekend. So Alex borrowed a saw from his work and cut out several rather spiffy-looking cars :). We had to quit a little early from that to go to our wedding shower that his church had planned. It was really fun! They had some funny games, good food, and nice gifts. We got this really nice REALLY heavy glass plate that I can hit Alex with when I get mad :). So he's actually behaving better for a change now!! Haha, just kidding. Actually, he told me that I was a pain in the neck when we were on our way home and he was safe in his apartment WITH the plate :). Humph. Anyways, then after the shower we hung out at Alex's apartment for the rest of the evening. Of course we went to church on Sunday. His church is SOOOOOOOOO nice!!! The people there are really friendly and can you believe it? They're excited about me moving down there! Obviously they don't know me too well yet. Mwahaha :D. Well. This paragraph is getting kind of long. Anyways, after church we went out for lunch at a fancy Italian restaurant. Alex's boss had wanted to have us over for a cookout or something but his wife wasn't feeling well. So he told Alex to take us out on the company credit card instead. So that was really cool :). Then after that we went back to Alex's apartment... and then his church has AWANA on Sunday nights, so Anna, Rachel and I went to AWANA with Alex and Mom and Andrew went to church. And then we had to go back home the next morning. So we had a good trip and lived happily ever after. The End. Whew! How's that, Terry? :)

Goodness! For a person who couldn't think of a thing to say when she decided to update her blog, I sure babbled on forever, didn't I? I suppose I'd better run along now- I was going to work on thank you notes tonight! I think I still have time for a couple before bedtime, so I'll TTYL!!

The Joy of Dog-sitting Part II

Yup, here I am at Deb's house trying to keep 2 dogs, a cat, and 3 fish alive and happy while their mommy and daddy are in FL. The cat and fish are all doing well and the dogs... well, they're another story :P. I have come dangerously close to killing them a time or two now!! Some days we're just fine together, and other days have been a little rough. Toby puked on the carpet, Max hides under the couch and then can't get out, they both start barking at random unpredictable times and scare me half to death, when we all get settled in for the night they both lay there and lick themselves for the next half hour. Do you know how LOUD licking is?!?!? Oh yes, and I have cleaned up 2 puddles but fortunately both were on the wood floor. The puddles are tolerable because I know they aren't used to being locked in the house all day without any potty breaks.

Ok, what else was I going to post about? Oh yes. We had a lovely trip down to Louisiana!! And didn't take a single picture while we were there... :P I tell you, one of us Harry people need to marry a photographer!! I had my camera in my purse the whole weekend and never really thought about it. A girl at Alex's church took tons of pictures at the shower though, and she's going to put them on CD and give it to us. So we'll have pics eventually!!!

Speaking of pictures, I know those dog pics didn't show up on the last post but I haven't had time to repost them yet. Dumb things!!! Well, dumb computer anyway. It wasn't the pictures fault :) . Maybe dumb computer operator! That's the REAL problem!!! Anyways, enough pointing fingers for today. I'm off to Mom's house to visit Jim and Lid and eat ice cream! You all have a wonderful Easter!!!!
