Guess what!

Y'all won't believe this, but remember my last post when I was griping about Titus being such a crank on Monday night? Well ever since then (4 nights in a row now!) when I lay him down in his bed he just lays there quietly until he goes to sleep! Its SOOO nice!!! And he's been awake when I laid him down every time so far! He's such a good baby :). Now he is learning how to use his hands more. Its so much fun watching him! Here are a few pictures from when we were playing around earlier this week... doesn't he look like he's about to share a juicy tidbit of gossip in this first one?

Hmmm, its been awhile...

So I guess its time for some more pictures, right? Titus and I have been a little bit sickish, so we haven't been so photogenic lately :). Well.... Titus is as cute as ever, but I haven't exactly been in a picture-taking mood! Anyways, here ya go!!

There is NOTHING more beautiful than a sleeping baby... especially after he screamed forever last night before he finally went to sleep :P.

He can just about pick himself up by his bib :).

And we recently discovered that he likes frog legs!

We had a fun weekend. Friday was our pizza & movie night, of course! Then Saturday we went shopping!! Very fun... even if its just groceries :D. And Sunday we had church in the morning and Awana in the evening! Awana is so fun... we have a bunch of crazy but sweet kids :).

Last night Alex had a Nominating Committee meeting. I call it the committee committee. That's because they're the committee in charge of nominating people for other committees. Personally, I think that when you need a committee committee, maybe you have too many committees? But oh well :D. And one should always try to be AT these meetings, lest they nominate you for something while you're gone... I stayed home with Titus and am now the co-chairperson of the kitchen committee. Haha. Alex is the other chairperson, and he WAS there, so I guess that theory isn't always correct :).

So... in case you're wondering how many Southern Baptists it takes to change a light bulb, in the case of our church we truly do have a Nominating Committee who nominates people to the Building & Grounds Committee, who would be in charge of making sure the light bulb gets changed.

*sigh* When Alex leaves for over an hour on a Monday night and I'm stuck with a crabby baby (two weeks in a row :P) I can really miss Hamilton Baptist and their marvelous simplicity!! The only committee I can remember having there was when we were picking new colors for the sanctuary walls! :) Oh well, Brownfields Baptist IS a wonderful church... I would think Hamilton Baptist was weird if I had grown up down here! :)

My Great Achievement

I made a diaper!!! Its a fitted stuffable one :). It is made out of T-shirts, and I learned that it takes 2 long-sleeved shirts to make one diaper (I need the sleeves for the inserts!). So, isn't it beautiful?

And I know y'all probably aren't going to be satisfied with a whole post devoted to diapers, so here's a couple cute pics of Titus in his shirt he got from Todd and Mrs. Virgie (obviously Todd picked it out!) for Christmas...

So here's a bunch of random pictures of Titus! I can't think of what I was going to tell y'all about, but there was something!! Um... maybe next time I'll tell you about it.

Oh, I CAN tell you about what Titus did on Sunday morning!! It was really funny, but you kind of had to be there to REALLY understand. I'll try to explain it on here though... I laid Titus down on the changing table to change his diaper and he was all happy and everything. So all of a sudden I saw that he was going to sneeze. Y'know, the "ah...ah....AH..." feeling, right? So he was kind of preparing for a sneeze, and right when the sneeze was supposed to sneeze (does that make sense?), he tooted. It caught him off guard and shocked the sneeze out of him, but y'all know how when you are going to sneeze and then it goes away at the last possible second you still sort of make the sneezing sound that sounds weird without an actual sneeze behind it? Kind of an "ahem" and a cough mixed together? Well that's what he did. It looked so funny- the sneeze preparation, toot, shocked look and cough at the same time. :) Hmmm, oh well. I told you you'd have to be here to really see the humor in it. Anyways, on to the pictures!!!

We spent some time outside doing yardwork/starting a garden and Titus came out to watch. Since it was 55 degrees we bundled him up good!!

We went out for lunch with Mrs. Virgie last Friday and Titus really likes her... I just caught him at a mad moment :).

P.S. In spite of him still wearing this shirt, Titus actually has been sleeping all night for the last week or two. It is Very Nice!

Titus was having such a fun time with his dad at lunchtime!!So later I decided to try getting a smiling picture of him closer up. First he stared at the camera for awhile: And then finally I got this!!! Very moist, but cute!!

Isn't this just the cutest outfit?? :) I FINALLY got around to trying it on Titus and it actually fits!! Even though its only 0-3mths. I think its because its a 2-piece outfit... he's pretty tall!! Anyways, Titus says thanks, Aunt Anna!! :)

More excitement in the Burrell house:

Last night I was baking cookies and making soup for supper. Tina's Corn Chowder, just in case anyone is wondering. It was delicious, but I think next time I'll put the cayenne in last and taste test it first. It was good, sinus-cleansing soup!! Heh heh, y'all wanted to know that, right? Anyways, where was I? Oh yes! So I was very hot. I asked Alex if he was hot too, and he said that he was. So I decided to open the doors and let some cool air in (it was ONLY 68 out! Heh heh, just what you Michiganders wanted to hear, right?) We had taken the screen out of the storm door so the Christmas wreath wouldn't get squished between layers of doors. Alex was laying Titus down so he could put the screen back in when I opened the door and reached up to remove the wreath. Suddenly a bird who evidently thought he had found his room for the night came bursting out of the wreath (couldn't he tell those branches were fake??), through the living room, and into the kitchen!! I hollered rather loudly in surprise and gave Alex a heart attack (just so y'all know, living with me will either kill you or cure you of what ails you!! From sinus cleansing to heart troubles, I've got it covered!! And my rates are reasonable!) So when Alex had recovered sufficiently enough to be able to speak again, he told me to take care of Titus while he went and took care of the bird. Of course the timer went off for my cookies just then, so I got to watch my hero in action!! He opened up the kitchen door and chased the bird right out!! It was MOST impressive!! And now we are safe and snug in our house with screens on BOTH our storm doors, living happily ever after... with the wreath squished between layers of doors because we STILL forgot to take it down after all the excitement. The End.

Happy New Year!!!

Well I don't know about y'all, but we're having a good beginning of the year!! ;) Not that you can mess up too much in just 4 days, but that's beside the point! We were going to have some people over to our house to stay up till midnight with us on New Years Eve, but we all went to Bro. Jim and Mrs. Sarah's house first for awhile to eat up their leftover Christmas cookies. And before we knew it, it was midnight already!! We had a lot of fun visiting with them and Alisha and Lindsey. And about 10 minutes before midnight we decided to watch the ball drop on TV. Now, y'all might not know this, but I have never witnessed this monumental event before in my entire life. So I was THRILLED!!! Well, I don't know if thrilled exactly described me, but anyways, it sounds good that way.) Anyways, it was anything BUT thrilling... in fact, I only got about 2 quarter-second glimpses of The Ball, and never saw it budge an inch. Don't ask me what's so exciting about it! Maybe I blinked at the wrong time? All I saw was some ditzy blond running around with her face caked with makeup babbling ditzily (is that a word?) about how excited she was, and [shove the microphone into someone else's face...] aren't you excited too? Good grief. I don't know why I ever felt deprived before :P.

Anyways, to make up for our lack of guests at our freshly cleaned house, we had Alisha and Lindsey over for pizza on New Years Day.

Anyways, here is a picture for y'all from up at Mom's house. This is Titus and Titus! Titus came over to visit for awhile because he was giving some of his outgrown clothes to Titus :D. So this morning Titus wore some of Titus' clothes to church and he looked SOOOO cute!! I forgot to take a pic though :(. Y'all will just have to satisfy yourselves with this pic of Titus and Titus. Aren't they so cute? I think cuteness must run with the name :).Yesterday we went shopping and used some more of our Target giftcards to buy... a BUMBO seat!!!!! Doesn't he look like such a big boy sitting up there? :)And yesterday evening Daddy decided to play with Titus :).Here's what happens when they play together:And he still gets rewarded with a smile, in spite of sticking toys on Titus' face and laughing at him :).
